Speed Up Your Weight Loss

It is funny how complicated we make the simple issue of weight loss. We must expend more energy, through metabolism and activity, than we consume through food and drink. Period.

Raise Metabolism

   1) Build muscle-the more muscle you have the higher your metabolism will be all day. There is a great article at: WebMd.com. Work your muscle to exhaustion and it will rebuild itself bigger.

   2) Do things the hard way. Work hard whether it is doing housework or climbing the stairs. Park a few blocks away from work

and walk briskly the rest of the way.

   3) Eat a good breakfast to kick-start your metabolism and exercise an hour later to maximize your metabolism boost. To burn fat, warm up for 5 minutes and do something aerobic like speed walk, jog, run or jump around.

   4) Don't waste your time in front of television! It is the perfect time for sit-ups, push-ups, marching, weight lifting and crunches.

The second half of that equation is to consume less calories every day. Eat 4-5 times a day and cut your portion sizes in half. Increase fresh fruits and

vegetables. Count your beverage calories carefully.

When dining out ask for a container at the beginning of the meal and hide away half of your meal to take home.

Most importantly, eat a balanced diet with lots of fruits and vegetables so that your body is well nourished and not starving for nutrients.
